CONSTITUTIONAL Law Reform Commission (CLRC) secretary Dr Mange Matui yesterday signed a new four-year contract and promised to fulfil his responsibilities.
With him at Government House to sign new employment contracts were Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra and National Museum and Arts Gallery director Dr Andrew Moutu.
Dr Matui thanked the Government for having confidence in him.
“I am well aware of the enormous task that comes with the contract which is performance-based and I want to assure the Government that during my term, I will ensure the CLRC performs effectively and responds to its call of duty,” Dr Matui said.
He said he would work with his team to implement the recently-launched CLRC corporate plan 2020-2024 that aims to achieve the organisation’s goals, objectives, and mandate but also to fulfill important government plans and policies.
He said the contract signing was a reminder to public servants including himself that they must make an impact and leave legacies behind and have succession plan for young ones to take up leadership positions after them.
He had been a commissioner for the CLRC since 2015.
He is a former pro-vice-chancellor of the University of Papua New Guinea and former executive dean of the school of law.
Department of Personnel Management secretary Taies Sansan witnessed the signing ceremony.
