Medics put down Bulldogs in Oro league

 MEDICS upset M4m Bulldogs 12-4 in the Popondetta rugby league premier division on Sunday.

The Popondetta General Hospital men with Russ Kaupa Jnr at the helm had too much bite for the Doggies.

Colin Papapu opened the account for the Dogs with an unconverted try to lead 4-0. 

Medics fullback Jacob Nul witha try and five-eighth John Milton converted for 6-4 lead at the interval.

In the second stanza, play seesawed with errors dominating play but Medics made the most of their chance with Jobie Kaprang barging over to extend the lead to 12-4. The Dogs tried desperately in the dying stages but their efforts were denied.

In the other encounter Crossback Spiders bit HOPPL Tigers 18-16.

In Sunday’s matches Medics play Spiders and Tigers face Bulldogs. 

A Popondetta team will soon be picked for the Southern region championship in Kwikila next month.
