THE Melanesian Alliance Party New Guinea Islands executives will be endorsing suitable candidates in all seats of the region in the coming national election.
Region party president David Piamia said it was the intention of the party’s executive to put up candidates for all the seats in order for the party to win back traditional seats once held as it is believed the support for the party is still very much alive.
He welcomed the challenge by the National Capital District  Governor and founder of the Social Democratic Party Powes Parkop, who called on the leaders from the New Guinea Islands region to stand up and be counted.
Parkop said they should not retreat in the face of the political power play present at the national level by other regions.
Piamia said it was also in the best interest for Parkop and his party to work together with like-minded parties like the Melanesian Alliance party which also stood for changes in the political front.
Piamia and his party executives are now preparing for the national convention of the party to bring forward its list of candidates to be endorsed for seats in the NGI region.
