THE people of inland Melkoi in the Pomio district, East New Britain province, have seen the need for inland fishery and the activity is slowly gaining momentum in the area.
According to Melkoi LLG fisheries officer, Peter Palengio, many farmers from the inland areas have expressed interest and are requesting the LLG to provide them with fingerlings.
He said, so far, the LLG had spent K1,000 on fingerlings, which had been distributed to farmers.
