MEMBERS of the Christian Apostolic Fellowship in Lae completed a one-week training on proposal and profile writing and put to practice the knowledge gained by writing proposals to seek funds from the Morobe education reform directorate (Merd) and provincial education division.
The programme was facilitated by Joseph Daniel Consultant Support Service that saw more than 50 church members including others from Lutheran church and Seventh-day Adventists.
Merd director Haring Qoreka told the graduates that the programme aimed at empowering people by providing them with skills to access funding by turning their ideas into proposals.
Qoreka said the Merd office was set up to reform the province’s education system.
He said one of the first changes Merd helped facilitate was changing the elementary system to early childhood system – the other policy was implementing Governor Ginson Saonu’s zero-dropout policy where all members of society would be empowered to contribute to the province.
Qoreka said they could create job opportunities through the proposal writing skill acquired.
