Men’s touch get a hand

Normal, Sports

KIMBU and Associates Lawyers has come to the aid of the PNG senior men’s touch rugby team travelling to Sydney today for the Mastars Games, with a sponsorship of K5,000.
Principal lawyer Alfred Kimbu, when presenting the cheque to team coach Augustine Aisi on Monday, said although his law firm recently started, he had the heart for sporting organisations that represented PNG in the international arena.
“I believe in Papua New Guineans and we have the potential to defeat champion teams in the world in any sports and it is that mentality which inspired me to support our senior men’s touch team,”  Kimbu said.
He said it was only in giving with all your heart that would lead to you receiving blessings from the good Lord and called on to other businesses to come forward and support national teams at international events.
Team coach Augustine Aisi thanked Kimbu and Associates for the assistance and assured their sponsor of their best performances.
The 13 members have been training for the last seven months and at the same time looking for assistance from corporate houses but nothing was forth coming until  last week  when Kimbu came forward.
The World Masters Games will be staged in Sydney from Oct 10-18 with the opening ceremony scheduled to take place at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on Saturday.
