Menyamya Road cut off by landslide caused by heavy rain

A SECTION of the Menyamya Road in Morobe has been blocked by a landslide caused by continuous rain.
The section of the road at Angepena village bordering the Kapao and Nanina Kariba local level governments was completely cut off by huge rocks and debris.
Menyamya District Development Authority chief executive officer Nicholas Abraham, who visited the area, had arranged for earthmoving machinery to clear the road.
Local men have also been asked to help clear the debris.
Rain also affected counting for the Menyamya by-election.
