MOROBE Football Association will head into its second week of round-two matches at the St Martins Oval in Lae tomorrow.
The competition, which started in May, has completed round one which saw all A-League, B-League, women and Under-17 teams play each other once.
Round two will feature all the return matches in seven weeks.
Association official Amos Anio said the competition had 13 teams in the men’s A-League and eight sides in the women’s A-League.
Anio said since 2017, the competition had seen a lot its talent play in the National Soccer League (NSL) and national junior teams.
“We have seen a number of players who came through this competition and have been successful,” he said. “Players like Emmanuel Simon for the national team and Peter Dabinyaba who played for the PNG Under-23s in Fiji recently.”
Anio also confirmed the sponsorship of K50,000 by International Food Corporation for this season.
