NATIONWIDE Microbank Ltd will extend its services to Goroka, Eastern Highlands, with the opening its 14th branch in March.

Managing director Tony Westaway said Microbank currently has total assets in excess of K68 million and is managing K61 million in depositors’ funds.

The bank has more than 100,000 customers and is now looking to increasing its customer base by extending services to Goroka.

The Goroka branch will become Microbank’s 24th branch.

Westaway said the move to Goroka was prompted by the enthusiastic efforts of the local people including the Member for Goroka Thompson Harokaq’veh, with strong support of the Goroka district administration.

He said Microbank is a supporter of grassroots Papua New Guineans and is ready to provide financial services to those without bank access.
