MILNE Bay’s family health services is targeting 58,326 women and girls aged 15 to 45 years in the third round of the tetanus toxoid vaccination campaign.

Family health services coordinator Jennifer Chare said from Alotau that reports they received from five health centres, showed 1,457 women being vaccinated.

“We are expecting more reports from the remaining 35 health centres towards the end of this month on the status of the programme,” Chare said.

“We anticipate strong winds will hinder progress of the programme to the outer islands, plus much of transportation is by dinghy, thus our officials need fuel to travel out.”
