Mine tailings and pollution

A proposed law was once put before the government to ban all river mine tailings.
I have not heard anything about it since then.
I want our Western MPs to find out about this proposal, and what decision the government made.
The proposal was put forward by the Constitutional Law Reform Commission (CLRC) seeking the government’s approval.
This followed the experience we had with Ok Tedi Mine and the pollution of the Ok Tedi and Fly River systems.
I once again kindly asked our leaders to follow up and let our Western people know because Western needs to know what decision the government made.
