THEY could not come to Port Moresby for the Pacific Games so they staged a two-day mini-Games at Tabubil in Western, organised by Ok Tedi Mining Ltd.
More than 100 children from primary schools in Tabubil and villages took part in tunnel ball and soccer on Wednesday.
For athletics, children between seven and 17 were arranged into groups to represent PNG, Solomon Islands, Fiji and Vanuatu.
The events included the 400m, 200m, 100m, 75m and 50m races.
In keeping with the atmosphere of the 2015 Pacific Games, no official winner was declared at the completion of the athletics competition.
Instead, a medal ceremony was conducted, where all who participated were rewarded for their efforts with medals.
