THE Murray Barracks Seventh-Day Adventist Church ministries department held a mini health expo in Port Moresby yesterday purposely for free health screening and counselling.
Children under the age of 12 were sent to a separate section while those above 12 and adults were at the complex.
Health ministries leader Ruth Paun said: Every day we witness an increasing number of deaths related to unhealthy lifestyles. Most of these premature deaths could have been prevented and quality of life bettered if simple lifestyle changes had been implemented.”
She said the expo was to help people make informed decisions to make changes in their lifestyles and improve their quality of life as a result of healthy choices.
“Our desire is for our congregation and community to experience a healthful and abundant life and to share these divine principles of health with others so that all may partake of the bountiful life God has intended,” Paun said.
