A project in West Yangoru, East Sepik, has been identified through a memorandum of understanding between Department of Implementation and Rural Development and the Investment Promotion Authority.
The Koboibu census economic corridor project consists of mining, petroleum and agricultural projects.
It is expected to be launched by Prime Minister James Marape next Thursday.
The Ilox Landowners Association representing more than 25,000 people of the West Yangoru local level government plans to tap into agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, mining, petroleum and timber projects along the Prince Alexander range.
Association chairman Joe Wadona said the landowners wanted to be involved so that they could become self-reliant.
“This is in line with the Marape’s call to take back our land, take back our people, take back our resources and make PNG a rich black Christian nation,” he said.
“These are big bold government policy statements for the country.”
