HEALTH and HIV/AIDS Minister Jelta Wong has called on provincial health authorities and provincial governments to work together in promoting quality and effective health service delivery.
Wong was in Jiwaka yesterday to open a new office for the health authority funded by the provincial government led by Governor Dr William Tongamp.
Wong said Jiwaka was the first province to build a separate health authority office.
“We need such communication between the health authority and the provincial government to lift the standard of health services.
“Jiwaka and Hela are new provinces and I will be giving them moral support.”
“I want other health authorities and provincial governments to promote quality health services in the country.”
Wong said he did not want to see past mistakes repeated where health services were not delivered according to the people’s expectations.
“We need team work to drive the health authority like what Jiwaka is doing,” he said.
“Quality and effective health services will happen once there is communication.”
