DEFENCE Minister Dr Fabian Pok has assured Parliament and the country that rogue behaviour displayed by soldiers last over the weekend is the last and will not happen again as long as he is the minister.

Pok said directives were already given to an appointed officer and team to identify and fully investigate those involved to face the law if found guilty of offences.

A standoff occurred over the weekend between a group of soldiers from the Taurama Barracks and the UPNG medical students at the Port Moresby General Hospital premises which resulted in gunshots fired and properties destroyed.

“I want to assure Parliament, the people of this country, parents and students at the medical school that this will be the last of such bad behaviour so as long as I am the minister for defence.

“The country, especially the people, are tired of it.”

A full investigation will be carried out to identify those soldiers involved.
