Minister: Tufi has potential

TUFI in Northern is an attractive place for fisheries investments by the private sector, Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister Dr Lino Tom says.
Tom said this was evident through expressions of interests by the private sector for fishing licenses in the province.
“Golden Ocean Fishery Limited is one such company having established in Port Moresby as an ornamental fish trader is planning expansion into Tufi,” he said.
“The company headquartered in Philippines has factories in a few countries.”
A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed between the province and National Fisheries Authority (NFA) to support its fisheries and maritime activities.
