THE Police Association of PNG has called on Police Minister Nixon Duban to look into administrative and operational issues affecting the performance of the force.
Congratulating Duban on his appointment yesterday, association president Lowa Tambua said there were critical issues affecting the force that needed to be looked at.
He said the force had inherited problems from different commissioners, commanders and ministers.
He said these included inadequate logistics, discipline among officers, a lack of manpower, rundown facilities and a lack of compulsory insurance cover.
“These can be addressed in partnership with all stakeholders, including the Police Ministry, national government, police department and the police association.”
