Finance Minister James Marape and State Enterprises Minister Ben Micah defended the K3 billion UBS loan at a forum organised by University of Papua New Guinea students last Friday.
However, despite their defence of the government and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, the day clearly belonged to sacked Treasurer Don Polye.
Marape and Micah received very little applause, as compared to Polye, and it was clear that students did not believe what they were saying.
Both men gave comprehensive talks on the technicalities of the loan, much of which has already been covered by media, and a repetition of what O’Neill had already said.
