ENGA Mioks are aiming for a strong finish to their Digicel Cup campaign following their first win of the season on Sunday against Central Dabaris (24-16).
New Mioks head coach Thomas Neah told The National that he was eager to restore the pride of the Enga government-sponsored side for the remaining rounds.
The Mioks, on three points, climbed a spot from the bottom of the ladder after their win to send Kimbe Cutters (two) to the bottom after round seven.
“I was only called into to join the team last Wednesday and I’m really happy with the first win of the season,” Neah said.
“When I went in, my first thoughts were to get the small things right and I really wanted to restore the pride of the Mioks. The Dabaris are a very good team and they really pushed us, but I’m happy that the boys came through.”
