The National – Friday, July 8, 2011

ENGA Toyota Mioks declared “bekim bek taim” against Wantok Gaming System Eagle in Mt Hagen when they meet on Sunday in Mt Hagen.
Mioks, who went down to Eagles on their home soil during the round one of the Digicel Cup competition in Wabag, are planning to repay the favour when they take the field at Kagamuga.
Mioks’s captain D avid Loko, forward Timothy Clement and winger Kevin Inagafa would not be taking the field this weekend due to one-week suspensions and family commitments.
Assistant coach Newmen Luke named a 17-man squad in Wabag to play on Sunday.
The line up from fullback to lock and reserves are Jeffery Maino, Junior Belkava, Oliver Keri, Pasu Awani, Charles Philip, Sova Milfred, Geno Gima, Essau Siune, Leeon Cletus, Luhul Inapero, Robert Gabriel, Meniga Keith, Nathan Anjo, Steven Kua, Mek Mann, Danny Patrick and Robery Goli.
“The boys are looking forward to maintaining their winning ways despite the absence of their captain,” Luke said.
Coach Timothy Lepa, who was suspended for one week told The National from Lae yesterday when contacted that his one week suspension together with other players would not affect the team.
He said his boys and the management have high team spirits and are looking forward to the game.
Lepa said that he would be travelling up from Lae during the weekend to support his boys on Sunday.
He said that it was a “bekim bek taim” or payback time and he had confidence in his boys to handle the job.
Attempts made by The National to get in touch with Eagles’ executives like Luke Mathew and Issac Kumbamon for Sunday line-up against Mioks was unsuccessful but believed that Eagles were well prepared to beat Mioks for the second time.
Eagles who went down to Mendi Muruks 18 -10 in Lae last Sunday and also against Port Moresby SNS Vipers on their home soil two weeks ago will not take this game lightly.
With the home crowd support at their back, the Eagles will play hard to win the game.
Kumuls five-eighth Dion Aiye who has been relatively quiet all season is due for a big performance but the Mioks’ swarming style could cause problems for the talented playmaker.
