Mire leads, Pato to shadow

 PUKPUK forward Mikes Mire heads a Morobe Hammerhead side that will be involved in a series of trial matches Goroka and Madang. 

Pukpuks centre Jackson Pato (pictured) and utility Bobby Bulumaris have been named as shadows outside the 30-man squad. 

The Hammerhead Sharks finalised their squad to play Goroka in the regional rugby union challenge at the SCRUM Oval in Lae on Saturday. 

The players were selected following a trial on Saturday.

Morobe Rugby Football Union president Lvingston Nenjipa said the squad had retained a lot of their experienced hands including several Pukpuks representatives that took part in the last FORU Cup tournament in Port Moresby.

Nenjipa said after this match the Hammerheads will travel to Madang to play the Mad Gauns the following weekend and then Madang would play Goroka in Lae the weekend after that.

All players are to meet at the SCRUM Oval this afternoon at 5pm.
