SOLAN Mirisim retained his Telefomin seat in West Sepik as his People’s National Congress party pushed its lead on the declared seats tally count to 11.
Mirisim, the Government whip in the last Parliament, polled 9974 votes to finish ahead of Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party’s Peter Iwei with 5719.
Senior PNC party member James Marape flew to Telefomin yesterday to pick up Mirisim and take him to Vanimo to sign the writ.
He congratulated Mirisim on his victory.
He said the PNC was “all set” and “all prepared” to continue in government.
“Continuation of government is good for our country. Many people and many commentators write so many bad things about our country,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter who becomes prime minister. There’s no magic formula for bringing immediate delivery of goods and services.”
