Mirisim seen as a top leader

Letters

I COMMEND Defence Minister and Telefomin MP Solan Mirisim for his leadership in the last term of Parliament. Obviously, his leadership has been admired by many and that is why people have re-elected him for the second term. Some of his notable achievements have been the:
l Re-establishment of Telefomin Community Health Worker’s Training School. We have seen first and second batches already graduated.
l Installation of communication towers. Now more than 50 per cent of the population across Telefomin can access Digicel services.
l New District Hospital building. The old building was built by Australian Baptist missionaries in the 1960s. Now we have a new modern building complex with a perimeter fence around the whole hospital area.
l Tabubil- Telefomin road. This has been a controversial issue which had several ground-breaking ceremonies a few years back. Now the road construction is well under way and is somewhere between Tabubil and Telefomin. Mirisim has defined the real meaning of linking the unlinked and reaching the unreached.
Keep on reaching out to your people and link up the district. I also acknowledged all the partners involved (Ok Tedi, the government and other stakeholders) for without their support, we won’t be having these developments.

Naganengim Murufat, (DWU)
