Three men, who had gone missing since last Monday while on a National Fisheries Authority (NFA)-led fishing surveillance in Milne Bay waters, have been found.
Milne Bay police commander Chief Inspector Joseph Morehari said the boat operator and two policemen, who were in a 40-horse powered dinghy escorting two NFA vessels on their operation and went missing while heading for Simigawal Island from Yanapa island in the Kiriwina and Woodlark area, were found last Thursday. “They were located by one of the two NFA vessels after a week,” Morehari said.
He said the three had encountered a problem with the engine of the outboard motor and drifted but managed to make it to a near by island three days later.
