A MEMBER of the Christian Apostolic Fellowship church in Papua New Guinea has praised Christian Radio Mission Fellowship and Missionary Aviation Fellowship for their service to the people.

Pastor Wayman Kati, one of the founding members of the Goroka Pastors Fraternal, said the organisations had been helping underprivileged people especially in the remote parts of the country for more than 50 years. Kati said they were Christian organisations trying to reach people in isolated areas with goods and services.

“They provide their own funding to support their work just to bring services to the remote areas where the bulk of the population is living.

“These missionaries are not doing anything to benefit themselves. Rather, they are serving the people of this country physically and spiritually.” Kati said the churches urged the Government to recognise some of their efforts and help them financially.

“In the remotest part of the country where the flag carrier of this country Air Niugini cannot fly, MAF is flying to save lives and serve the people of these remote areas. Our concern is we just want the Government to recognise these organisations and that they could continue.

“Now, these missionary organisations are setting another milestone by running  computer training programmes in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, for pastors from the remote part of the Highlands region to get basic computer skills.”
