A LOCAL church in Kundiawa town, Chimbu, is sending a missionary for the third time to a Muslim-dominated country to preach the word of God.

The congregation members of the Alliance Local Church from Jiwaka and Chimbu gathered last Friday at Gon church and farewelled young missionary Morris Amuk who was leaving for West Papua.

Morris is the second in a family of three. His elder brother Wapia Amuk Kuglame is the current lord mayor of Kundiawa. His younger sister has passed away.

He will join other missionaries and serve for 12 years on a probationary basis. Chairman of the church in the highlands region Benny Ipia said churches must send missionaries out to other countries.

Ipia said it was very challenging task for a young man like Amuk and urged him to stay strong and carry out the work of the church.

He said it was a costly exercise to send missionaries to other countries. He thanked  Wapia and church members for the K30,000 contribution for the trip.

Wapia told his young brother to focus on his work which a call from God to save the lives of people.

He told his brother to submit to his supervisors and carry out his work faithfully.
