Misusing police vehicles

Letters

AS reported in The National on Friday, police officers at Gordon station told Police Minister Bryan Kramer when he visited that they catch PMV bus to work because they don’t have police vehicle to pick and drop them off.
I believe each police station has a vehicle but other police officers use them unnecessarily.
This is very true in all other police stations across the country.
I live around Gordon and notice that when vehicles are used by officers on duty and people come and file a complaint to make an arrest, police vehicle’s do not get available after 4-5 hours.
I don’t know what the officers were doing for that long with the vehicle.
Every police station must have a pickup and drop off vehicle for officers on duty according to the duty roster. This is essential for efficiency.
A challenge to the police hierarchy is to ensure that there must be a log book registry in all police station to keep track record of police vehicles movement in and out.
This is way forward to avoid officer’s miss-using police vehicles.
