Moem dominates Futsal event

MOEM Primary School teams walked over most teams from Wewak, East Sepik province, on Monday to grab the top prizes in a junior Futsal competition staged over the long Remembrance Day weekend.
Moem Primary School players showed their class when they beat Saints 5-1 in the U15 boys division to get the top honours in the fourth Sepik Futsal Association (SFA) organised Futsal championships.
The tournament is an annual event for SFA and had teams for U15 and U13 boys and U11 mixed divisions participating. In the U13 boys division, Moem edged Ward 7 Wewak Rural LLG 2-1.
In the U11 mixed division, Kreer Sharks proved a bit more organised than most teams and beat Moem Primary School 4-1.As a result of Moem’s overall performance they also took out the “Fair Play Club” Award. During the presentation, SFA executives thanked M.S. Wagambie Lawyers for sponsoring the nine trophies and Hukahu Parsa Ltd for taking care of administration costs and individual awards for the best players and manager in each division in the championship.
