Momase police chief urges leaders to support during election

MOMASE assistant police commissioner Giossi Labi is appealing to Mamose leaders to put aside differences and unite to support the force in 2012 election.
At a press conference, Labi welcomes the police budget allocation for next year’s national elections, with his command receiving K188,694,816.
The budget allocation for each region are:
* Momase K54 million;
* Highlands K37 million;
* Police headquarter K36 million, 
* New Guinea Islands K25 million;
* Southern K17 million; and 
* National Capital District K16 million.
The allocation to Momase provincial police commanders (PPC) are ACP headquarters K823,000, Lae metropolitan commander K4 million, Morobe police commander K16 million, Madang police commander K20 million, East Sepik police commander K5 million and West Sepik police commander K7 million.
Operations for Mamose region will be coordinated by deputy commander Allan Kundi, who will report to Labi.
The Momase budget was the reality of the bottom-up planning and effort contributed by all four PPCs and the metropolitan commander’s office, Labi said.
“All we ask from all political leaders from government, opposition and middle bench, if any, is your cooperation and unity to ensure the election is run smoothly for the good of all of us,” he said.
Around 3,000 police personnel will be deployed in Momase to conduct pre-election duties utilising sea, air and land tactical intelligence information from police, Correctional Services and Defence Force.
Labi and Kundi urged  the government to fund the Defence Force  and Correctional Services.
