Money doesn’t come easy, says mum

Business

Nichola Kaore believes that money doesn’t come easy – you have to sweat for it.
She is a young mother, who at first birth four years ago delivered twin boys, whom she struggled to raise in a Madang settlement. Her husband, a business studies graduate, is still struggling to find a job.
Kaore is selling store goods and drinks. She saves every bit to makes ends meet.
Kaore made heads turn at Papindo shopping centre in Madang town last Friday when walked in with K1110 in coins to exchange for notes. The money came from her daily sales at her small settlement market over the last 12 months. It took nearly one hour for shop assistants to count the coins, pack them and exchange them for notes.
