THE Moni Plus branch in Alotau will ensure financial services meet the needs of people who live in a maritime province, says national sales manager Lawes Omeri.
Moni Plus is one of Papua New Guinea’s largest non‐bank licensed financial institutions, which plans to open more branches in the country next year.
Speaking at the opening of the Alotau branch on Tuesday, Omeri said it was difficult for people to have access to financial services given that Milne Bay was a maritime province.
Managing director Gajanan Barve said they had strong relationships with key partners in Alotau.
He said the new branch showed they were making a significant investment in the people and businesses in Milne Bay.
“In Milne Bay, we are already serving customers across our four products – personal loans, asset finance, our renowned foreign exchange service and our competitive term deposit,” Barve said,
“We are ready and positioned to help more customers in this province, and are keen to do business straightaway in these product lines.
“I believe our new customers will be pleasantly surprised by our fast and efficient service.”
The Alotau branch is the fifth to open in the country this year. The other branches recently opened in Down Town Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen and Kokopo.
Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Charles Abel said opening the branch was in line with one of the Government’s key pillars of financial inclusion. He said with that policy the Government wanted to see financial services available to the people.
