THE 2010 Port Moresby Billiards championships, the only billiards event in PNG, is set for another year of fantastic competition as the Moni Plus Ltd announced their fifth consecutive year of sponsorship of K7,500.
The competition is set to cue off on Nov 11-14 with a total of 24 spaces available for players intending to take part in four groups of six.
Moni Plus managing director David Kelso said that billiards was a worthwhile event that needed to grow in popularity unlike snooker which had a huge following.
He added that Moni Plus was honoured to be part of the growth of billiards in PNG, and, therefore, had maintained its support since 2006.
“This year’s event will be a very exciting event and, on behalf of Moni Plus, we wish all the competitors all the best in this year’s competition,” Kelso said.
Port Moresby Billiards and Snooker Association president Roger Wilson was grateful for the continuous support that Moni Plus had shown and thanked them for their keen outlook of the sport.
The top prize for the winner this year is K1,000 in prize money.
