LADDER leaders Moore Printing will look to maintain their dominance when they face Westpac in the premier division of the Private Companies Netball Competition in Port Moresby on Sunday.
Moore Printing will be boosted by Papua New Guinea Pepes’ Nerrie Adula and veteran Manu Sina but Westpac will look to spoil the party if they get off to a fast start.
Third-placed Westpac have drawn with Bank South Pacific One, who are second, and will look to compete for top spot in the seven-team division heading into the finals.
In other matches, Air Niugini face Kina Bank and QBE meet Pro-Clean. Despite this being QBE’s maiden season in the division, they will be looking to keep Pro-Clean rooted to the bottom with a win.
According to competition president Julie Mai, the match between Air Niugini and Kina Bank is expected to be evenly contested.
Mai said both sides needed a win to stay in touch to make the finals in two weeks.
There will also be more matches played across 16 other divisions, starting at 9am on Sunday.
Mai told The National that some teams did not turn up for their matches at the resumption of the competition at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex on Sunday.
“We expect all teams to turn up this weekend. We encourage teams to complete the season on a high note as this competition is about keeping a healthy, being fit and expanding our networks,” she said.
“I believe most teams did not turn up as players were still on holidays or still trying to get into the groove of things after the break.”
