SETTLERS at the Morata Two Golf course settlement are disappointed because guests they invited to witness the launching of their association never turned up the previous weekend.
The guests, according to an official programme,  were National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop, Moresby Northwest MP Sir Mekere Morauta and Moresby Northeast MP Andrew Mald.
Chairman of the settlers association Robert Ika said a lot of time, effort and money were put into organising the event but the invited guests including the governor failed to turn up.
Ika did not say how much money was spent in organising the event but said they would not launch the association until the guests funded the launching.
“We will go and see Parkop at his office and he will fund this gathering,” Ika said.
He said the gathering was to request the leaders to deliver services such as water, electricity and proper roads.
