Morata residents suffer from water flow problems
The National, Tuesday July 14th, 2015
ON behalf of residents and owners of thirty (30) National Housing Corporation (tenants/give away housing scheme 1990s) at Kofomu Crescent in Morata 2 in the National Capital District, I would like to express our frustration over water flow problem in the area.
Our street was properly planned by the NHC to accommodate necessary services such as electricity line, water pipe line and sewage services to benefit the residents. Most of us are long term resident here and one way or the other we are paying to the state some of our dues as usual.
We know that none of the residents pays water bills to Eda Ranu and we believe that we fall into this category (including settlement). However, in the near future we are potential clients of Eda Ranu.
In the last three years we have faced water flow problem and we have approached relevant authorities who are involved with Eda Ranu to address our concern as basic human need in life.
We have exhausted our abilities to win the hearts of Morata 2 area officers at head office.
We therefore publicly invite Eda Ranu CEO Henry Mokono to step in to rescue people who are denied of one of their basic human needs.
Due to the water problem in the Morata area, sewerage services to our homes have ceased. Instead, we are using open pit toilets which pose health risks to our families.
These health issues are a grave cause for concern among all families in Morata but nothing is being done about it.
The Morata area is no more a “raskol ples” but well educated citizens of this country are living there to provide services to the NCD and the country.
I urge the Eda Ranu management and NCD health authorities to investigate the situation before it gets worse.
