More police patrols in Lae suburbs

AS a resident of Lae, I have seen and experienced many law and order issues such as pick-pocketing, petty thefts, public disorder caused by drunkards, school clashes, etc.
Innocent citizens who wish to freely move around or attend to personal chores are being targeted.
Likewise, in many suburbs, street gangs and mobs have been known to cause all sorts of unrests in the communities, especially at places like East and West Taraka where police presence is mostly at a minimum.
Groups of individuals have been going around harassing ordinary residents in their attempts to get money.
This happens mostly when they are drunk and do not have any other means of getting money to buy more alcohol.
Even at night, people cannot sleep in peace because of loud, unnecessary noise from the drunkards shouting, singing or turning on their radios at full blast.
It is time the police crack down on drunkards.
The police are concentrating too much on town centres and have neglected  the suburbs.
They need to change their tack, including having more patrols, especially on foot.
I call on Morobe governor, police commissioner, Lae MP and other relevant authorities to look into this matter urgently.
