More swimming action today

 THERE will be more swimming action in Day Two of the competition at the BSP Arena (Taurama Aquatic and Leisure Centre) today.

The women’s 50 backstroke will see Anna-Liza Mopio-Jane, Shanice Paraka and Britney Murray, taking part in the heats. Paraka and Murray will line up against each other to take on Emma Terebo of New Caledonia, who has the fastest in the time of 29.43 against Yaloni Blake of Fiji, while in the earlier heat, Mopio-Jane will challenge Caroline Puamau of Fiji and Suzanne Afchain of New Caledonia to win a spot for the final in the afternoon.

In the men’s 100m butterfly, Ryan Pini will swimming against two New Caledonians, Thibaut and Jeremie Dufourmantelle, in his heat. It should be a good match up in this race for the PNG champion. 

In the women’s 100m freestyle, Jeankapa Koupa will swim the first heat against Matelita Buadromo of Fiji and Ylenka Maurin of New Caledonia.

The winners will advance to the final in the evening.
