More than 500 set for policing

IN May, 535 policemen from around the country were promoted to constables from probationary constables by Police Commissioner David Manning.
A police gazette shows that 70 were females.
The gazette dated June 15, 2021 03/2020 said: “All members of the police force are instructed to make themselves thoroughly acquainted with the contents of the police gazette and to obey all the orders herein conveyed.”
The gazette has a confirmation under Section 43 (4) of the Police Force Act 1998.
The 535 names were confirmed as constables.
Last month, a new board was sworn in by Minister for Police William Onglo.
Heading the board is Dame Jean Kekedo, who is the first woman in the 100-year history of the constabulary to head the police promotions and selections board along with deputy commissioner of police, administration, Joanne Clarkson who was sworn in as a member.
Rounding up the trio is ACP Highlands Eastern end Anton Billie, who is the representative of the police union.
