More time for cocaine case

THE cases of an Australian pilot, an Italian yacht owner and the three locals facing criminal charges over the country’s biggest drug bust last July was adjourned for two weeks because Police Prosecutor Boas Binuali needed more time to respond to submissions filed by the four defendants.
David John Cutmore, Carlo D’Attanasio, Dominic Terupo, Morgan Mogu and Shane Dikana will return to court on July 8.
Central Committal Court Magistrate Alex Kalandi will rule on Cutmore’s case after his lawyer and Binuali opted not to file submission and asked the court to rely on what contained in his police hand-up brief and make a ruling.
Magistrate Kalandi will hear prosecution’s response to submissions by D’Attanasio, Terupo, Mogu and Dikana.
Cutmore is remanded at the Bomana Immigration Detention Centre.
