MOBILE Works Ltd, the contractor for the 9-Mile to 14-Mile four-lane road project in Port Moresby, says it’s continuing excavation and earthworks for pavement and drainage.
In an update on the progress of work, the company said this phase followed clearing and grubbing work which was done in January and February. Progressive activities are concurrently carried out on the stretch of road at the 9-Mile area to the Pacific Adventist University junction and 14-Mile turn-around, the updates said.
Roadwork at the 9-Mile include excavation of the bulk earthworks, with pavement and lined drain works, and treatment of Water PNG age-old water main and valves.
“Mobile Works has faced minor set-backs like water main and valves in the way of construction that needed treatment,” the company said.
“But the contractor is working around the clock with client and project managers to resolve and mitigate them as construction continues.”
