PORT Moresby Rugby League clubs moved a motion at a special delegates meeting on Tuesday afternoon for the board to reply to allegations within seven days from July 24.
The allegations against the board include incompetency, non-attendance and insufficient reporting on PRL operations of the 16-club competition.
Clubs will reconvene next Wednesday  to hear the board’s reply and make their final decision.
The clubs turned out in force at the PRL clubhouse, with the one agenda – to remove the board and establish an interim caretaker board to take it to the next annual general meeting at the end of the year.
Heading the clubs were the presidents of Magani Jack Kedea and Dobo Warriors Wari Varage and presidents and representatives from Kone Tigers, Brothers, Royals, Hawks, EcoCare Pumas, Kone Storms, West, Tarangau, Hohola Dragons, Paga Panthers, Souths and Defence.
Chairman Labi Amaiu allowed the move on the grounds of the inconsistency of his board.
“We need to look at people who have time for rugby league, as well as make some concrete decisions,” Amaiu said in his welcome speech.
Kedea moved the motion for the club representatives to elect a caretaker board to move the league forward, and the clubs responded with nominations.
Deputy chairman Samson Unagi, who arrived while nominations were being made for the proposed interim board, quickly moved for the clubs to give the board ample time to reply.
The initial agenda was then closed as the clubs agreed to wait seven days.
The clubs remained firm on their stand at the end of the meeting, and called on the board to commit to the scheduled date.
Port Moresby Referee representatives were also present.
Other board members Kera Ngafkin, Jamuga Stone and Timothy Gena were absent.
