Moresby Northeast roads get upgrade
The National, Wednesday 29th Febuary 2012
MORESBY Northeast member of parliament Andrew Mald is determined to provide better services for people living in his electorate.
Mald believes improving services like roads and water are the main factors in lifting the standard of living in settlements and suburbs.
As a result, the main and feeder roads, starting from 9-Mile to 6-Mile, are been upgraded.
Other projects are education, law and order, agriculture, church, sub-contractors, sports and water.
He was out yesterday visiting and inspecting the 8-Mile and Wild Life areas where road construction is under way.
He said the deteriorating
state of the roads contributed to criminals carrying out armed hold-ups.
Mald said when the roads were in good condition, armed hold-ups would drop and the travelling public would be able to travel without any fear.
“The bulk of the working class live in settlements and contribute to the daily economic flow of the city.
“And it’s very important they travel to work on good roads.”
