Morobe fish farmers attend business training

FISH farmers in Morobe attended a training on “fish business” conducted by the National Fisheries Authority last Thursday at Busamang village in the Salamaua local level government in Huon Gulf, Morobe.
Present to witness the graduation was Morobe provincial fisheries committee chairman Philemon Tomala, provincial program adviser Weti Zozingao, agriculture committee chairman Michael Poane former premier Hagai Joshua and other guests
The two-week training covered Fish Business One and Two courses from the National Fisheries Authority.
Maria Seth from the National Fisheries College in New Ireland facilitated the training.
Seth said the 22 including three women from the nine districts who attended the training were taught basic bookkeeping, bank processing and procedures and business techniques.
Seth told the participants to make good use of the knowledge they had gained from the training to help themselves and their cooperative societies.
She said the training was certified by the National Training Council and the participants will be given the NTC certificate later after their data was finalised.
