Morobe prepares for one-six-six structure
Morobe is establishing the provincial schools restructure committee for PEB endorsement to oversee implementation of one, six, six education structure.
The committee was formed yesterday after two days of awareness on the structure by officers from education policy planning division led by assistant secretary – research, evaluation and statistics James Agigo in Lae.
The committee would go through provincial education board for endorsement and recommendation before going to national board and department for approval. The awareness involves education officials and authorities where terms of reference for restructure committee were drafted.
Core responsibility of the restructure committee was to lead planning and implementation of school restructure in Morobe. They would be the technical team for PEB responsible for planning and implementing the structure.
Specific roles and responsibilities of the committee are to endorse work plan of activities for the structure for districts, ensure school restructure planning and implementation procedures are consistent with guidelines provided by national school restructure implementation task force.
