Morobe undefeated

 AFTER two rounds of the Air Niugini National Regional Championships, NCD and Morobe remain undefeated with NCD on top of the leader with a better Net Run Rate. Central and Southern registered a win each whilst Highlands/Madang and CPNG Colts went winless on the first day.

There were several milestones during the day with the standout performers coming from Central’s opening batsman, William Mula who scored an unbeaten 131. Half-centuries during the day came from Central skipper, Gimapau Keimelo and NCD opening duo, Alfred Amini and Heni Siaka. Paul Rawali for NCD was the stand out performer with the ball taking an incredible 6/10 off his 4 overs against Central. Some notable performances from young leg spinner from Morobe, Ruma Igua who picked up 3 wickets in the first match and followed it up by taking 4/22 in their second match against Southern. Young Wedega Simon from Milne Bay also took 4/12 against Highlands/Madang in their only win today.

Tomorrow sees undefeated NCD take on the young CPNG Colts whilst Central takes on Southern and Highlands/Madang take on Morobe. Matches scheduled to start at 2.00pm
