Morobe unveils urban development plan

 A MAJOR Lae-Nadzab urban development plan has been revealed by Morobe provincial planner Francis Japu.

The plan, which includes the support of the Japanese Government, was explained to Japanese Ambassador Morio Matsumotu and Japan International Cooperation Agency chief representative Shigeru Sugiyama.

A JICA team is already on the ground working with the Morobe administration to complete the plan.

It covers the area from Lae to Wampar and is planned to run in tandem with the Japanese-funded Nadzab International Airport work, which is to start this year and completed in 2020.

The plan was welcomed by Matsumotu.
