EDUCATION never ends. It depends on just how far anyone wants to take it.

Many give up when pushed out by the system while others discontinue because they think they are too old to be at a certain grade in the classroom.

Take Dyna Poko, a mother of three from Laigam, in Enga, as an example.

She proved that nothing is too hard for someone with the right attitude and mentality.

During the end of the second term, Poko received the Grade 8 dux award at the St Joseph’s Primary School at Sangurap, in Wabag.

Her performance was highly recommended by the school board and teachers.

When receiving the award, she promised to carry on with what she was doing in order to further her education.

Poko told people at the school’s second semester graduation that her dream was to further her education after she left school for years when in Grade 8.

“Having children and working hard to fulfil family commitments never stopped me from enrolling at a school.

“The desire built up in me for years and nothing stopped me from going back into the classroom again.

“I never concentrated or gave into condemnation but to follow my desire and that was to be in a classroom,” she said.

School board chairman Tony Ken told the people to follow  Poko’s lead.

He said that education was the key and the school would do all it could to help people like Poko.
