TWO men were murdered and dumped on the roadside in separate locations in Lae between last Thursday and Friday, according to police.

Lae police operations commander Insp Fred Kaiwa said the two were killed and thrown on the road to make it seem they were killed in road accidents.

Kaiwa said police were yet to establish the reasons for the killings.

“Both men were killed around the same time,” Kaiwa said.

“One was killed and thrown at 8-Mile while the other was dumped  on the road at the Kamkumung Kona.”

The killings came after Morobe Governor Kelly Naru urged city residents to refrain from criminal activities and maintain peace in the city.

At 8-Mile, a partly naked body of the man in his 20s was dumped in a small drain opposite the St Joseph Catholic Technical School. He had bruises and cuts on his head.

In Kamkumung, the body was left near the roundabout.

Lae police had earlier warned people not to venture into unfamiliar locations.
