THE Motu Koita Rugby League Association have confirmed the 12 teams for the 2019 season.
The teams are Baruni Eagles, TI Vikings, Mirigini Laumas, HB Lahara Storm, Vabukori Hurricanes, Buigarara Dunas, TI Stones, Dobi Panthers, Buria Mosquitoes, Papa B2 Cowboys, and new clubs PL Milk Raiders from Hanuabada and TI Dolphins from Tatana village.
Motu Koita Rugby League Association president Dai Pipi Boe, pictured, said apart from the 12 teams, there were some more interested teams so they would look at expanding the competition to have 14 teams but that would depend on the new clubs meeting the league’s requirements in terms of having enough players for the three divisions divisions.
“We decided to settle with 12 but then there is a team from Boera that is interested so with that we will have to look for another team to make it 14 teams,” Boe said.
“All clubs that are confirmed are now urged to pay their K1000 affiliation fee for their men’s A grade, Under-20 and women’s teams,” he added.
“The deadline for the payment of the affiliation fee is April 13 and the K50 registration fee for players and officials is April 30.”
The payment of the fees will be done to separate accounts.
Club affiliation fees must be paid via online banking or direct deposit to the MKRLA BSP account: 7006892652.
Player and official registration must be paid into the PNGRFL Insurance Administration BSP account: 7011593956.
